Some people call them May flies.

They smell like fish and look like some sort of nuclear accident. They don't bite but they are ugly and stinky as heck. :puke: We've got probably about 150 on our back door alone right now.

26. I remember fish flies!
I lived near Lake St. Clair and we always had piles of them around this time of the year. They never really bothered me since they didn't bite or sting and, as a child, I found the fact that they appeared annually, for a brief time, to be pretty interesting.

I never saw one when I lived in Calif. And I have very rarely seen them in Minnesota.

Don't they have kind of sticky (not stinky) feet?

12. I think we got your summer in Oklahoma
You sure you don't want it? I'm quite tired of it already.

It's been 90°+ for over a month now, some 100°+ days as well. I'm sweating walking to the mailbox.

11. I slept from 2pm to 7pm.
My basement became the after-party for some of my friends after the bar shut down. We were all up until like 8am partying. They left around 10:30am, but I didn't fall asleep until 2pm. Everytime I get a normal sleep schedule, I do something like this and fuck it all up.

17. It was good to see the sun today. I updated my resume and
e-mailed it to several agencies/possibilities. Then got a mani-pedicure to make myself feel better and prepare to tackle the world tomorrow.

24. I went
to lunch with a friend, did a bit of shopping and tonight went to a Solstice service.

It was a perfect day today; bright, sunny and warm - it's now 10:30 and I still see the sun on the horizon. :-)

27. I took a long nap....
And I worked on a drawing of the Hollyhocks in my backyard. I'm hoping doing some artwork today, on the Solstice, will set the tone for the summer.

BTW, all three of the Zookids have been at summer camp for almost two weeks now. This is a first for me, to have this free time. I had great plans to renovate my house and paint the Great American Painting, instead I've slept a lot and tried to rest my last remaining nerve. ;)

I will have two of the three home in a couple of days.

Happy Summer Solstice to all!
