Mother of JonBenet Ramsey dies .. CNN reports
Edited on Sat Jun-24-06 10:08 AM by auntAgonist
Patsy Ramsey, JonBenet's mother, dies

http://www.cnn.com/2006/LAW/06/24/ramsey.death/index.html

CNN) -- Patsy Ramsey, mother of JonBenet -- whose killing has never been solved -- died Saturday of ovarian cancer, her lawyer said.

The death of 6-year-old child beauty pageant winner JonBenet Ramsey in December 1996 has been a high-profile criminal case in the United States.

The girl's beaten and strangled body was found in the basement of her family's home in Boulder, Colorado. Many questions are unanswered about her death -- especially who killed her.

Her parents came under suspicion, but insisted an intruder committed the crime. A grand jury investigation ended without charges in 1999.

2. they updated the story .. she had been in remission
for quite a while. How sad for the family. I can't imagine going to my grave not knowing who killed my daughter ... I would think that must have haunted her all this time.

may she RIP.

5. That is an interesting theory ..

but I'm really not sure. And now I have to go read up on it, for some reason I thought the son was John Ramsey's.

I wonder if they will ever find her killer.

:hi:

on edit: Seems to me there is an adult child of John Ramsey and that's who I thought you meant, reading about it though there was an 11 year old son named Burke who was secretly questioned by the Grand Jury.

Burke Not a Suspect: In May 1999, Burke Ramsey was secretly questioned by the grand jury. The following day, authorities finally said that Burke was not a suspect, only a witness. As the grand jury began to wind down its investigation, John and Patsy Ramsey are forced to move from their Atlanta-area home avoid the onslaught of media attention.

11. I always thought the son did it. too...If convicted she would have
lost two children. Poor thing, I always felt bad for the media frenzy surrounding that case.

8. I think it must
be terribly difficult for them. Being in the spotlight, losing their daughter and now her death to ovarian cancer. I hope the media leaves them alone.

9. socialdemocrat1981 I think
too many people wanted an easy solution to the murder case and fingered the family. None of them were ever charged and the so called evidence never held up to a grand jury investigation.

I hope and pray the family has many around them that can support and love them at this very sad time.

John Ramsey's daughter died in a car accident (I think 1991)
JonBenet was murdered and now his wife is deceased. How very sad.

14. I too hope and pray that the family have many around them
to give them support and love at this difficult time. I never knew that John Ramsey had another daughter who died in a car accident. It only increases my alredy deep and profound sadness and sympathy for this family -they've had to endure more than what many have to go through in a lifetime.

12. It was two child molestors who lived nearby
Edited on Sat Jun-24-06 09:13 PM by judaspriestess
and one of them is dead of an apparent suicide which was very suspicious. Court TV had a fascinating documnetary on this about six months ago. I think they even presented the evidence to the Boulder police and they were also ignored. Now that Mrs. Ramsey's has died they may air it again.
I only saw it that one time.

13. It is really shameful
that the law enforcement people would not pay attention.

http://crime.about.com/od/unsolved/p/jonbenet_case2.htm
DNA Points to Intruder: A CBS "48 Hours Mystery" report Dec. 18, 2004, revealed that DNA found at the scene of JonBenet's murder is linked to a male not in the Ramsey family and the Ramseys are no longer the focus of the investigation. The report also indicates that whoever killed JonBenet may have tried to kill again -- attacking an eight-year-old girl who was in the same dance class as JonBenet Ramsey.
The 'Amy' Case: Nine months after JonBenet was killed, an intruder broke into the home of another Boulder couple and sexually assaulted their eight-year-old daughter in her bedroom. The intruder was scared away when Amy's mother woke up. Struck by the similarities with JonBenet's case, Amy's parents reported the attack to the JonBenet investigators, but at the time, they "were completely uninterested in it," Amy's father told CBS.
