1. Seconded
The whole "this is the only documented case of a spirit killing a person in America" was not part of the movie. Unless I missed it (as did the 3 others with me).

Saw it at the dollar show and still paid too much. :(

2. And, BTW, a little web research shows the story to be MADE UP!!!
The recorded legend is not a thing like what happened in the movie.

A'yville Horror came out the first time when I was in high school. I remember all the ditzy cheerleaders were going on and on about how scary it was because 'it's a real story!'

5. The real story is scary as hell
The Bell Witch of Tennesee. Some of the Bell family members wrote books about it.

Andrew Jackson was one of many who observed the phenomena. He visited the family's farm and conversed with the spirit.
