2. Most serial killers don't kill their victims at Starbucks.
:P That being said, I hope it goes well! :hi:

6. Yeah, but when I posted about meeting him,
there was a massive cynical response. We'll see if everybody was right.

Don't go to the ladies after you get your coffee.
You never know --- serial killers have been known to drug their victims.
:wow:

In all seriousness, hope you have a good lunch and maybe get a decent job offer out of it.

18. Really? Wow, that's ludicrous.
I'm a designer, and I've met up with freelance clients at coffeeshops before. The reason, in two words: free wireless. It happens all the time, you're sure to be quite safe from being gruesomely slain.

19. As it happens, we didn't even make it in the door. Instead,
we walked over to, of all places, THE OLIVE GARDEN!!!!! I kid you not! I had to restrain my laughter because he wouldn't have understood. You wouldn't know, of course, that there are very few to no non-chain restaurants in Bangor Maine and none at all in the area I met the man.

I had the pizza for one with black olives, artichokes and mushrooms. It was tolerable. :)

24. I know, I couldn't even begin to explain it to him,
because among other reasons, he has an utter contempt for computers. And television, and most music. And the U.S. in general. But isn't that funny? I'm sure there's a message from the deity hidden in there somewhere but I don't know what it might be....

12. Unless they are trying to make a statement about modern consumerism
I guess then Starbucks would be the perfect sight, next only to WalMart in it's statement potential.

But I am a sick puppy to even think this way.

13. Nice man. Sigh. Rich and handsome.; Snob, though.
It's not so much that he will employ me, as it is that he will make it so I don't need employment. Just not interested in that right now, you know? Broken heart doesn't want to fix itself for somebody else right now.

I suspected that's what he wanted but a smart girl never passes on an opportunity! Again, heavy sigh. I am wretchedly damaged goods.

I have another *engagement* with no job prospect this weekend. Another black-haired man. I'm thinking, why not have ten or twenty and I'll never go hungry?

Shit.

15. Oh Ms. Pie, but I am.
I'm going to be stuck in love forever with an asshole whose long gone. A painful nightmare that never seems to end. My soon to be ex calls me "the walking wounded." Laugh. When your estranged husband feels sorry for you because you pine for the man who broke up your marriage, that's pathetic as hell.

But thanks. You are a good person to always be there when I'm whining

34. Don't make me an offer I can't refuse! Laughing.
I've been subject to a fair amount of mental cruelty lately and have become very accustomed to it. Between you and HypnoToad, though, it's nice to know I have backup should my soon to be ex husband or ex Love fail inexplicably in what apparently they believe is their sworn duty!

21. What makes it sort of sad is that, in a way, I wouldn't mind
being just a *little* taken care of. But I can tell that this man is very lonely and thinks he's found something in me and there is no way I'm willing to give up all my freedom for a repeat of my current situation (albeit w/a little more opulence!). Woe is me, eh?

32. We all read Cinderella...
Who wouldn't find it tempting? You're wise to recognize that you would have to sacrifice something precious to be with him. And what if, after a few years, he found "something" in someone else? It's not a big deal if a couple can't share the financial burden equally; but each should be able to take care of themself at least.

25. Well, somebody made the point that there's no such thing as
a rich artist. The money is family money I believe and not related to his art. He's also written a book, he says, on the women in real estate in Florida. It's a satire.
