3. It was a great shot, and the reason why he's the bank, isn't it? Since it
was the only goal of the entire game.

He's still got it.

He doesn't work the field very hard, but on a set kick he delivers the goods. It was an excellent match, they've all been, especially the recent matches. Really good ball playing, pretty good sportsmanship aside from the italian giving it to the guy in the eye, that was brutal. Everything else I've seen is men playing with outstanding sportmanship.

It's been great to watch it every day.

Brazil is going to take it, however.

4. He got really lucky
He was ill during the game and probably shouldn't have played, or at least should have come off early. If England had lost he would have taken a lot of the blame for not withdrawing from the squad due to sickness.

The thing about him that really bugs me is that he can be an awesome player, working hard and dictating the play. You only need to watch the England vs Greece World Cup 2002 qualifying match at Old Trafford, he ran the game throughout the 90 minutes scoring one goal and setting up another. He simply refused to let England lose the game. He's never shown the same desire or ability through a game for England since then. Whether that's the fault of the coach or if it's Beckham himself to blame I've no idea, I know that Erikkson isn't a particularly good man manager so he can take a lot of the blame, a better coach could probably get more out of him.

He can still do it, if he's motivated.

5. I saw it, don't have a link, though. Pretty incredible.
He definitely "bent" it...surprised the goalie with the shot, too. The guy never had a chance.
