Sometimes my friends amaze me.

Annie's in a bad mood. She doesn't talk like this often. But maybe she should. Pretty darned profound comment, wouldn't you agree?

"Fuck aging, I don't like a damn thing about it....fuck wisdom too, that doesn't get me anywhere either....Everyone else is content to stay just a cog in the wheel so it does not help that I have gained some wisdom.....It just isolates me more from others....Fuck this shit."

This also from Annie about our mutual friend, Dan:

"Oh Dan gave 200 bucks to a homeless woman in Temple City last Friday...Dan said she was maybe 30 and in very bad shape, she was searching for food in dumpsters....What has this country come to.....? He also bought her a cold soft drink, it was very hot that day..."

Aging does feel isolating at times.

She's 47, but looks 15-20 years younger, and fights it like a tiger. Works out like a fiend. She's having a hard time coming to terms with the fact that she can't be 20 forever.

It's hard to imagine that more of your life is behind you than ahead, that is unless I live to be over 90...
