1. Well, I don't believe in owning living beings
Luckily the cat feels the same way. She's part of the family, but I don't own her anymore than I own my son or my sister.

10. You do not own them. You are their caretaker.

15. Cats don't have owners, they have Support Staff
(The magnet actually reads: Dogs have owners, Cats have Support Staff. I just adapted it a bit.)

22. You've got it all wrong. You're the cat's human.
It owns you. :D

2. Everyone should have a pet.
I have two dogs. One is a Rottweiler and the other one looks like Benji. I could not imagine coming home from work and not be greeted at the door by my babies.

19. I totally disagree!
The only people who should have pets are the ones who are willing to care for them properly. Tying a dog in the back yard and letting it bark is cruel. Dogs are very social creatures who need to feel a part of their "pack" (family). Not that anyone here would do that.... but we all know someone who does!

6. Well, I do have that problem occasionally,
plus vomiting on the carpet. But it is nothing that carpet cleaner can't take care of and some Fabreze to kill the odor. When you are a doggie parent, you take these things in stride. Believe me, dogs or cats are a lot less messy than little children.

It's a pain to clean up, but it's so worth it. :)

20. Dogs don't do that ... once they are house-trained. They are easily
paper-trained. And cats, of course, use their kitty litter.

5. I don't own any pets.
I do, however, have a couple of cats as roommates, who are kind enough to allow me to live with them.

12. settling with being a fin-mama
I want a rabbit or two but my current lifestyle will not afford me the time to be a good fur-mama. So I am setting with being a fin-mama to some fish from the classroom. I don't consider fish pets but they will work for now.

16. A warning: Birds are messy.
I had two parakeets, which have since died, but they were so messy. I was constantly cleaning up feathers and birdseed from the floor.

I had tiels for years.

But worth it, I think. I'd much rather have a bird than a dog or cat. :-)

going to have to take care of her pets... hmmmmmmmm.

Luckily, I adore them as much as she does.

17. I ticked other
cos I've three kitties - not one. They are all house cats - two Chinchilla Persians and a Heinz 57 moggie <tabby which is a cross between a Bengal and a Bengal/Siamese>. Good company for me and my daughter calls into feed them if I can't get home in time or am on holiday whatever.

I get really testy if any of the communities on the banjo groups start threads , as they occasionally do, talking about using cat skins for banjo heads.

21. I have lots of computers around the house
I fear a cat would chew on the wires or damage them somehow. Also I dont want to have to vacuum the house every other day.

23. There was actually a move in the HI Legislature last year
to outlaw no-pet clauses in leases, condo rules, etc. It's that bad. Apparently the famed aloha spirit does not extend to na ilio (dogs) and na popoki (cats). :(

K-A
now catless for over a decade thanks to a succession of callous landlords
