What is the best Christman gift you ever received.....
and what was the worst?

The worst gifts are all the gifts that people buy because they don't know what else to buy. For example...candles (I hate candles) or little do-dads and stuff you put on shelves.

The best gifts were the ones I bought for myself...such as my computer (last year) and my digital camera. (this year) :-)

3. A Hug From My Mom Too
Six weeks before she died from a massive stroke this year.

The worst has got to be the underwear I got as a kid.

2. Hmmmm...
Edited on Sat Dec-13-03 02:05 PM by HamstersFromHell
The best: The birth of my daughter, Dec. 23. Nothing will ever top it.

Second best: My divorce finalized. Dec. 20, three years later. (I didn't want it, but as my lawyer told me: "You don't need to divorce her, you two need to divorce her family." My ex unfortunately wouldn't agree to that.)

The worst: This grotesque sweater I received from my in-law's parents. (And of course, having to wear it the next Christmas.)

On edit: punctuation.

4. It was the year Rickey Henderson Broke the base stealing record
I had picked him as my favorite player his rookie
year when I was 12 because he chewed bubble gum
and blew bubbles when rounding the bases . Well my
aunt had collected all kinds of news articles and
made a collage of Rickey for me .

The time and thought put into it just warmed my
heart beyond belief . I still have it stored away
somewhere .

I can't remember the worst I ever got .

7. Anything from Mom. She died in September.
A single mom with two sons in the '50s; Dad split entirely when I was 9. Never had much money, but Mom always saw we had a good Christmas. I particularly remember my younger brother and I getting the great cowboy stuff in the late '50s, when every other show on TV was cowboy. Got a picture of me in my Paladin outfit, and brother in his Superman costume that we got probably around 1958. Worst? I never got a "worst" gift; any gift is nice. Any gift I bought for myself would be the "worst," because it didn't come from the heart of another person.
