Who are you?
in real life. Are most Dems rebels at heart? I have been a rebel all my life . I would guess most Dems arent conformists ,what I mean is most dont tow the typical straight down the middle 2 kids , 2 cars and a house payment, line.

Are you a rebel or the black sheep of your family? Im guessin most of us are?

1. Dunno...

I don't have the 2 kids, but I have a house payment and walk the pretty normal line.

I'm not a rebel at all.

3. None of The Above
I'm child-free by choice, so no kids. I'm in the Silicon Valley, so no house. I do live in the burbs now, but grew up in a city.

9. good for you.
It's no cooler to be anti-establishment just for the sake of being so than "normal".

I've got 2 kids, 2 cars, and a house payment; I'm still a strong liberal who works campaigns, donates $ to pro-choice organizations in particular, and brings my small children along with when I do political stuff.

I have a navel ring; does that make me weird enough to be a Dem?

6. I am the Fox!
Edited on Sat Dec-13-03 10:55 PM by The Lone Liberal
Who is the fox - I am the fox
Who are you - I am me
Who is me - Me is a thief
You'll bring your poor, poor mother grief

So after the fox, after the fox
Off to the hunt with chains and locks
So after the fox, after the fox
Someone is always chasing after the fox

Where is the gold - It's on the truck
Where's the truck - I won't tell
You must tell - Then I will lie
You'll make your poor, poor sister cry

So after the fox, after the fox
Off to the hunt with chains and locks
So after the fox, after the fox
Someone is always chasing after the fox

Why do you steal - So I'll be rich
Why not work - Work is hard
You'll be caught - I never fail
All little crooks wind up in jail - Not me not me

So after the fox, after the fox
Off to the hunt with chains and locks
So after the fox, after the fox
Someone is always chasing after the fox

After the fox

After the fox

After the fox

8. I am very rebelish.
As a kid, I believed that school should be illegal, and that kids should have more rights (i.e. the right to vote).

11. well Ive got the two kids, two cars and a mortgage
and I suppose I am conforming to what society expects of me.

But I never have fell for stuff like Bush is pushing. You would have to be a halfwit . Lots of em out there.

When I was a teen I was definetely a rebel type. I didnt slow down or straighten up until I hit thirty. Im 47 now btw. As I grow older I want some stucture and security I didnt need when I was twenty.

12. I am NOT middle America.
I don't conform; that's just how I am. When I was a kid I wasn't a rebel; then I grew up. I'm in my forties, single, no house, no kids, never wanted kids. I still don't have a 'career' and actually am only working PT right now. I'm looking for work, nothing specific, just 'something I'd like.'
I don't do what "people my age" are supposed to do.

13. I am a Rebel
and my family loves me. My grandmother is basically a yellow dog Dem and my Gramps is a Republican, the easily manipulated type.

I may tow the straight line later on in life, but it will be in BC, Canada. We plan on eventually moving to France, as well. I'd be perfectly content living in France with a Eurail pass.

I don't think most Democrats are rebels at heart. Not at all. I think most care about the letter the person has in front of thier name, and not about permanent change for good.

16. We're all weirdos in my family
so the only way I could rebel was to become a Republican, and that was out of the question. So, no, I'm not the rebel of the family.

18. From the outside
I seem to be a boring, normal person: two kids, married 23 years, two cars in the garage, stay-home mom, live in Kansas.

But, I didn't change my last name when I got married (I ought to start a thread about that) and have never lost my inner rebel. I'm a flaming liberal at heart, a lifelong Democrat, finally get active in the campaigns (for Dean), and demonstrate when I can against Bush.

19. I come from a pretty white-bread, WASP, southern
family, but...
My (single) mom was fairly liberal.
Growing up in the 40s and 50s in Birmingham, Alabama, I never understood the POINT of segregation. I really didn't care what color kids were I went to school with, or if they sat next to me at a lunch counter.

I'm 62, a retired airline pilot, married 34 years with one daughter and one grandson. Still pretty much white-bread, I guess.
