Any experience with Sun's Java Desktop?

It's on sale ($50) for the remainder of the year. I've not had any chance to play with it (or even see it in action), but it's aroused my curiosity. Anyone here had any hands-on time with it?

2. runs on any platform with Java?

I'm running Linux on an old box. It would probably run like molasses on my old 450 mhz machine. What are the potential benefits of it?

3. Its an OS ... it runs linux and its based off of Novell's Suse variety

Its an inexpensive desktop alternative. Yeah, it has java but no more Java than other PC out there. Java runtime engine and SDK I believe at the most.
