karaoke update: I won

So this was the first week of 8 rounds where someone wins the night

Starting the first week in Sept., there will be 8 contestants and 2 will be eliminated the first week, leaving 6

the next week two more will be eliminated, leaving 4

the next week two more will be eliminated, leaving 2

then the last week, someone will win $500.

I had a good night. I sang "Somebody to Love" by Jefferson Airplane and the audience loved it.

I don't have to be there over the next 7 weeks, but I think I'll go to see what my competition will be. I think the biggest bonus I have is that I know how to pick a song that the audience responds to, and you folks were very helpful in suggesting some stuff that I can do in the later rounds, so thanks!

I wish I could sing. I can hear songs pitch-perfect in my mind, but I, uhm, can't communicate them with my voice. :evilgrin:

and ever since the popularity of Desperate Housewives, it has become somewhat popular.

I entered and won a small contest about 4 years ago... tix to an American Idol concert (???) and a limo ride there and back.

I like to sing... what can I say?
