WHY does falling on one's tailbone hurt SO MUCH????
Wiped out in slippery shoes on wet grass about an hour ago, heading out to weed the garden, and fell on my coccyx, damn....
Can barely move now...yikes, that HURTS.

Shameless sympathy-seeking thread. :nopity:

2. LOTS of nerves passing the area? Lots of hard bone
Lots of ligaments?

Do take care. Could be worse than it seems now. Might be a good idea to have a doctor look at it.

You'll probably be more sore tomorrow. Is there someone who can help you if you stiffen up a lot? Seriously, make plans for getting to the doctor and having someone with you. You may find yourself helpless for a bit. Hope not, but do recommend you call a friend if you live alone.

Take care and let us know how you are doing.

4. Thanks all...yes, it's stiff but I am trying to keep moving (gently!) to
keep it from getting too bad...
Hubby's here, so I am not suffering alone :-)I think it'll be OK, but I nearly hurled when it first happened! Ibuprofen and ice at the moment seems to be helping.

3. I know that pain all too well.
I broke my tailbone rollerblading 3 years ago... talk about a SERIOUS pain in the ass.

6. Oh man, ow ow ow....I don't think it's anywhere near broken, just bruised
so I am sure it's not as bad as what you suffered!

5. Ouch - I did that last year. Unbelievably painful.
I went to my doc, and there really isn't much they can do for it, other than some anti-inflammatory drugs. Those actually helped after a few trial and errors. Ice and a donut ring can also help. Other than that, it's just time and healing.

8. *lol* thanks! And no, I have more cushion in that area than I care to
admit...although it didn't help at ALL!
