My fish with the bad eye; the eye has turned cloudy...
In a 37 gallon tank, I'm now worried this is going to spread and attack the other fish. What can I do to save them?

Thanks!

1. Go out to Drs Foster and Smith
and do a search on Aquafish - they also have an 888 hotline for help

http://www.drsfostersmith.com/

BTW - their antibiotics are water soluable, so OK for human use.

2. what i would do
If the shop where you bought it is open on Sunday -- in my area, pet stores are open on Sunday after 12 noon -- I would return the fish. Even if they won't give you your money back -- stores have different policies on fish -- they can look it over and make suggestions about the likely cause and the course of treatment for your tank.

In future, I strongly advise the use of a quarantine tank but what's done is done.

Keeping my fingers crossed for your fishes!

3. Quarrantine the fish, but it sounds to me like it won't spread
The fish with the bad eye is having a reaction to something already in the tank--he/she/it is not spreading something.

Good luck.

4. When I bought the fish, its eye already looked indented or abnormal
I hope you're right, but I think the eye was injured and infection set in... :-(

5. Thanks to all!
I'll call the pet store and see what can be done. Worst case scenario is I just buy some appropriate antibiotics and hope.

6. I don't know, but look at this site
It's worth the joining. Lots of knowledgable fish people here.
