Yes, so I went to NY for my West Point Don't Ask, Don't Tell arrest courtdate. It was a big waste of time and money (both for the gov't & Soulforce) as nothing was settled.
Then, I went to my Soulforce organizer training in the armpit of NJ, Secaucus. There I learned (as Thomcat put it) how to get myself in my trouble. I also acted as a tourguide one night in NYC. I feel kind of dirty because I ended up having to take a touristy picture of people in Times Square. I also learned that for LGBT people not lucky enough to live near NYC, it's like a gay Disneyworld.
After that, I spent a week at our house in Stonington, CT. I had a lot of fun but yesterday I got my arms burnt. I blame the rest of my family. Due to their slowness, my stepsister and I spent several hours stranded at the beach with no drinks, towels, or sunscreen. We just had beach chairs and a bag of stale chips. It was much like what I'd imagine life on a deserted island to be like.
So my body is currently, four different colors. Blindingly white (parts that haven't seen the sun), tan (most of me), red (arms) and purple (my right knee). Several things contributed to the purple knee. They could have all been avoided, but that would have been not as fun.
First, I managed to flip off a tube going very fast. This was to much amusement to those on the boat, because apparently I spent some time skidding across the surface on my back with my legs over my head. All I remember is having my head underwater the whole time and seeing my feet. Then, I popped up and got back in the boat to do it all again (without the flipping over though).
Then, I fell off the boat into the cove while docking. This also was very amusing to those on the boat, because I managed to do the comical one foot& hand on the boat and one foot & hand on the dock until they seperated too far and I fell into the cove. Unlike the other spastic things I did to my knee, this one was entirely not fun for me.
The next morning, we went body surfing. I was doing very well, until I was knocked under my one large wave...only to stand up and get knocked over by a much larger wave. This wave conveniently carried me almost completely to the shore though. I just wish it didn't do so on my knees.
The final abuse was banging my knee on the console of one of the Whalers, while jumping swells over to Block Island. Both of the Whalers seem to be prone to causing kneebangs. Something that never happens to me on our Grady-White or Sea Hunt. So, if anybody here works for Whaler, I just want to say that I've banged my knee too many times on your boats.
Overall, it was a really fun time. I'll be going back to CT this weekend for a few days probably.
