Any Rock and Hyde fans here?

Canadian group, mid-80s. Paul Hyde of the Payolas...anybody?

Rock and Hyde are basically the same as the Payola$. Virtually the same line up. Dick CLark, and others, objected to the payola reference, They wanted to crack the US market, and they were told that they never would, with a name that harkened back to (and this might shock you) the days when corporate interests dictated what one heard on the radio. Luckily those days are long behind us!

By the time they became Rock and Hyde, they had pretty much lost their edge, no matter what their name, IMO.

If you can find a copy of this long out of print LP, the first Payola$ album, "In a Place Like This", is a New Wave masterpiece.
