Great gift ideas for that picky person:
Share your ideas in this thread. Here's my contribution:

For that gourmet cook in your family:

A Rosemary Christmas tree. I have a good web reference but the price is about $60.00. So if someone has a better source, feel free to share it.

2. For the Office Secret Santa:
Do the 12 Days of Christmas using puns. Someone did this at my old job. It was absolutely brilliant. Some examples:

A spent shotgun shell, mounted on a twig, potted (a cartridge in a bare tree)
Two Dove chocolate bars taped to a carton of cottage cheese (two curdled doves)
Three french breads
Four calling cards
Five golden things
I forgot the rest except 11 pairs of Huggies, with complaints written on them (11 diapers griping) and an order of hot wings (12 drummies yummy).

3. Great idea.
Then they can pick off the needles and store them to use in a stew later.

4. I've also seen a mushroom log
You moisten the log, stick it in your basement, and a few weeks later, you have shitake mushrooms. Cut them off and they keep coming back. Cool, huh?

smelled like it for about 4 hours! They sure were cute, though.

on edit: I don't think they cost that much at Lowe's.

8. you can make them and yes Mr. Picky loves it!
I grow Rosemary, it grows huge out here, and one of my snotty rich friends loves the smell. Pick the branches and put them in a vase full of warm water with an aspirin. You can decorate the branches if you like. It smells wonderful and lasts at least two weeks.

I collect vases, old bottles, etc. and bring it as a hostess gift whenever I'm invited over there for some gourmet meal. I know he likes it because when I haven't brought any in awhile, he asks for more.
