Poll question: Bumper Stickers?
Do DUers have bumper stickers on their vehicles?

After you vote, please elaborate. If not, why not? If yes, how many and what type (political, witty comments, bands, etc)?

1. 7 I think?
Mostly political, plus a vegan one. I want to reshuffle them, get rid of a few and get a few new ones soon.

2. Oh yes, I do have bumperstickers!
Just two right now......

And both are in the rear window of my car.........

Of course, one says DU.....

The other is the kicker: He's not MY president.

I love 'em!

Todays cars don't really have a bumper, more like a plastic cover that matches the car's color. My personal preference is to not mar the finish on the car. If it were chrome yes.

28. I wouldn't put any on my Saab, but I don't care about my current one.
The Saab only had a teeny little rainbow that I stuck on the license plate; when I start driving it again, it'll remain sticker-free. My Cherokee has 140,000 miles on it, so I'm not really concerned about the finish. It's getting donated to the Kidney Foundation in 9 months. They can have it; stickers and all.

However, my DU sticker is taped to the upper right side of my rear window. And my Ned Lamont sticker is on the bottom right side.

so I don't have to deal with adhesive, and I can take them off when I go on job interviews. You never know what's going to influence a prospective employer.

21. Three political bumper stickers.
One is a donkey.
One says "Who's going to clean up after the elephants."
The latest one I just put on a couple of days ago. It says "Bush Exit Plan" and has a picture of flag-draped coffins.

24. Other...
I had three political bumperstickers on my old van. I haven't put one on my current van because it's new enough that I'm not ready for it to get keyed.

Here's a story y'all might appreciate: At the start of the Iraq invasion, I put a bumpersticker on my van that said, "Peace is Patriotic," and I had a young man pull up next to me at a stop sign and give me the finger while he shouted, "F**k you, bitch!!!" :eyes:

25. I love my "I See Dumb People" with a map of the electoral votes with the
red states predominating, but I endure a lot of angry honking that's unexplainable otherwise. And I proudly display my "It's All That's Left - KTLK AM1150" and of course an Air America Radio sticker that I had to buy, no less. Now that's a fan. Someone gave me a "BUCK FUSH" in BIG letters but I don't have the nerve yet.

32. Cleopatra the Slum Goddess was festooned with stickers
Half of which were promptly removed when I returned the car to my mother.

I have to show a bit more restraint with the 2004 Prius. I have one O'Reilly and Associates (the tech publishers, not the felafel-loving looney) bumpersticker which promoted their "Annoyances" series of books. It is bright orange and asks, "Are you ANNOYED?"

While I was driving down El Camino Real a few weeks back, a car crept past me in rush-hour traffic. Out popped an arm from the passenger side window holding a hand-scrawled sign, "Yes, We Are ANNOYED."

My husband's Darwin fish was recently stolen. :-( We have no idea where the car was when it was ripped off. We just noticed it yesterday.

38. I had them....
don't anymore.

In a fit a pique the night of the (2nd) stolen election - at about 2 am when I finally admitted the 'pubs had screwed us again - I went out and ripped them all off of my car. (Still not sure why.)

I never put any back because my car had been "keyed" when I'd had the stickers on before. Was it the bumperstickers? Someone who didn't like me personally? Or just a random act of vandalism? I dunno. But I decided - no more bumper stickers 'cause I can't watch my car 24/7.

Maybe a magnet or window decal that I can remove every time I park the car someplace besides my own driveway...
