Lonely woman arrested for using 911 as a love line.
http://www.kgw.com/news-local/stories/kgw_071306_news_desperate_911_call.c18f792.html

An Aloha woman smitten with a sheriff’s deputy called 9-1-1 to get him to come over and succeeded in getting a date – in court, that is.

After her neighbors reported a noise complaint last month, two Washington County sheriff’s deputies knocked on Lorna Jeanne Dudash’s door, said Sgt. David Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

One of them caught her eye. When they left, Dudash dialed 9-1-1 in a desperate attempt to get the deputy she described to dispatchers as “a cutie pie” to return.

"He's the cutest cop I've seen in a long time. I just want to know his name... heck, it doesn't come very often a good man comes to your door step... I don’t have an emergency… I’ll think of something… throw him back my way, would you?.... just blame it on my dog,” Dudash told a puzzled dispatcher.

(more at article)

Apparently her tactic backfired... "The “cute” deputy returned, and, once he determined there was no legitimate emergency, he arrested Dudash for misusing 9-1-1. She now faces a fine of up to several thousand dollars and up to a year in jail, according to Thompson."

1. Talk about copping a feel!
Or is that "feeling a cop"?

2. This arrest is appropriate.
9-1-1 is for real emergencies. Someone could be badly hurt by such a diversion.

4. She SAID it wasn't an emergency--isn't it the fault of the dispatcher?
I don't necessarily think this woman should be put in jail or fined all of that money. She did something stupid, sure, but it wasn't like she said "Someone's breaking into my house!! OH NO!!"

She *told* the operator that it wasn't an emergency and that she was trying to get the cop back out there. Why did the dispatcher go "okay, will do!"??

5. I was trying to call the cops the other night
and it was harder than heck to find their non-emergency number. I almost called 911 myself. She likely will get a $100 fine. The maximum penalty is usually for repeat or egregious offenders.

6. I tried to do that the other day too. Had to google them, LOL.
In the phone book, it says 911. Everywhere, 911.

I just had a question about code enforcement, geez!

8. I called 911 once and was put on hold...a man was breaking into my house
at 3am and he had the screen completely off the window and I was ON HOLD for 911. And you can be sure it's because of stupid people calling for stupid reasons. I hope they send that stupid bitch straight to jail just to make an example of her. At least 30 days, in my opinion. Someone could been trying to call for a real emergency while that 911 operator was dealing with that stupid fucking cunt.

PS. my story ended OK because once I got through, it only took the cops about 30 seconds to get to my house. The guy took off when he saw the flashing lights.

7. Not much of a romantic, was he? A stern lecture would have done the job.
