Are two of the most obnoxious activities for a person to engage in at a concert. Discuss.

1. Leading researchers have demonstrated
that crowd surfing and slam dancing also are obnoxious activities for a person to engage in at church services and meetings of the DU Junior League.

Back to you, p1. :P

Underwear flinging is old hat, a lot of people don't wear underwear now.

I'm the mature kid at shows usually. Someone gets dropped while crowd surfing or goes down in the mosh pit, even though I think they're obnoxious as hell, I always step in and help them up and tell people to smarten up and to at least help each other back up. A side effect of being one of the few sober people at a show, I guess. It always makes me feel like the mature older brother though, ahah.

10. i contend there are times when undergarment flinging is..
...entirely appropriate.

...say, getting home on this 100 degree day here and finding that the house is fairly cool.

..., or, say, reaching the beach like tonight with a near full moon and a nice breeze coming in off the water...

disagree?

43. Fucking awesome, save for the dickheads I mentioned.
At one point Ben actually stopped and told people to quit being idiots. "We're not fucking Limp Bizkit, there are rules here for a reason, treat each other with some fucking respect. Just because there are women here guys doesn't mean you have to show everyone how big your cocks are." Haha, it was even better than when Cedric from At The Drive-In got pissed about slam dancing at an ATDI show.

be on the lookout for somebody crashing down on your head crowd surfing. I got stuck up front while Bad Religion played at a Warped Tour a few years back (my friend insisted on being up front for them) and I was in fear my facial piercings were going to get kicked into my face.

I generally tend to stand back from the swirl of all that. I am not exactly a teen anymore anyway but I never got into it in the 80's and it was going on back then, too...

Edited on Sun Jul-16-06 12:15 PM by Scout1071
All was fine and dandy until I reched the outer edge of the main surfing bubble and was dropped flat on my back. I was 20 and could barely move for a few weeks. The next day I drove myself (don't know how) to the hospital and I kid you not - an old man in a walker passed me on the way in the door.

Edited to note the year was 1991 - prime crowd surfing year.

55. Yes, if it's not a Metal or Punk show.
If you are moshing at a Pearl Jam concert you are completely wrong. The whole thing went to hell after it went mainstream. People have no idea of the rules or etiquette and just go out and try to hurt people. Moshing is for mosh music, not pop bullshit.
