Calling Cards for International Long Distance on a Cell Phone
Anyone have any good services? We got rid of our home phone and used to use 10-10-987 on our home phone when we called internationally (mostly Europe). Now we need a new service. Cingular charges something like 2.30 a minute when you don't have a plan and I know there has to be a calling card or simliar service to 1010987 that we can use on our cellphones. I'm looking for less than 10c a minute to Western Europe, preferably less than 5c.
I was just looking to see if people had any they recommend though. My experiences with calling cards in the past (that I used on our landline and cellphone) have been spotty. I didn't know if there was a service or card that anyone actually used and recommended.
I've heard of that one before. For some reason I'm skeptical about how it works. How's the quality? I need good quality calls because the people I'm calling are old and don't hear all that well.
With Jajah, you are actually calling phone to phone, which might help quality. I admittedly haven't taken the time to fully learn about their technology. And I use it to call England, which has fine phone service to begin with.
if it's used skype-to-skype, it's free. But their skype-to-landline within Canada and the U.S. is free until the end of the year. Outside of that, it is very reasonable.
I haven't been impressed with it. Maybe it's my local cable connection but for some reason every time I"ve used it it's been jumpy.
I wish I could use some sort of VOIP IM type chat, which I've used with a number of friends and relatives. For instance I frequently have videochats with a friend in Kuala Lumpur via MSN Messenger. Totally Free. Unfortunately this is basically to call my grandfather in England, and my grandmother in Athens. They dont' have computers.
