Yah I know, it's not the end of the world, yada yada yada...but it's still scary. I'm typing this while watching my SO curled up on the floor snoring peacefully. Love in a time of chaos is comforting, but it makes the terror even more potent.

1. Yep, it's getting me down

and I'm very worried where this will end.

Just when the Peace Process seems to breathe a little life-
Bam!- Another huge, violent step backward.
My heart just cries when I see Beirut getting blown to pieces.
Before I get flamed, I cry when I see any casualty of the
ongoing war, on all fronts.

I have so much respect for people on both sides that are
still working/fighting for a peaceful resolution to this centuries
old turmoil.

I'm especially concerned because we have such a clueless
administration in charge of our country. Don't ever get me
started on their commander in chief.

3. I don't care anymore.
Each is a day I survive.

My debt is my folly and I have a games player of a supervisor and 4 years before my debt and upcoming degree education gets me anywhere. In theory.

More people need to realize that each day is its own and those who look for perfection in another are fools.

4. War is always scary.
And even more so when we have such f**king idiots in charge who love death and destruction. Yeah, it's getting me down.

5. Yep, it's got me freaked and numbing out....
I'm so bloody tired of the Israel/Palestinian conflict. Both sides have done such hideous, unforgivable things to each other that I have long since ceased to have any sympathy for either of them. And with Dim Son at the helm, we have no functioning adults trying to deal with this nightmare.

And, while this may sound petty and self centered, it freaks me out that they are talking about gas prices rising further. It's easy to throw around condemnations about our culture being addicted to oil, but the fact is our economy is based on it, we have no alternatives right now, and I need it for my life to function!

7. It's bringing me down.
:scared:

And it's infuriating that our so-called leaders are standing around scratching themselves while the ME goes up in flames.

8. It's got me so down that I'm going to go and buy myself
a copy of "Madame Bovary." A painful tale of unrequited passion, despair, debt and painful suicide by arsenic is bound to take my mind off things, for a few hours. We're all getting so fucking cynical, aren't we?

10. It is bringing me down
but I have had a bad week generally. I am convinced we are on the brink of total war. Why can't people learn to live together? Why does having different religious beliefs create such hatred between people?
It has always been this way and I am convinced there is no solution to the crisis. They are determined to annihilate each other and our government is either totally incapable of doing anything about it or they actually want this.

Plus I got bad news Friday that my uncle who was diagnosed with cancer a year ago died. I was not that close to him but since he, my aunt and cousins moved to Austin a while ago, I spent quite a bit of time up there. Even though I knew it was hopeless, I (and I don't think anyone else did either) expect him to go so soon. So it was kind of a shock.

I think it came as somewhat of a shock, since the doctors had said aa few weeks or months. But I suppose that was just a guess really.

15. Yes. I am so sick of the killing going in the Middle East.
My neighborhood is so quiet, and not just because of the heat.

I go over to GD and check the news, it is so depressing.

I am so glad we have the lounge to hang out in.
