Phone company problem- Any suggestions? (no dial tone prob)
Okay, Bell South can NOT seem to provide me with a reliable dial tone. I have had this phone line for a month now and I lose the dial tone all the time. It hasn't worked all day today. I have had the repairman out 4 times in the month I have had it.
I have decided to drop them since they expect me to pay my bill in full while only providing service on a part time basis. I am going to try Vonage.
Here is the dilemma, I paid a connection fee of 45.00 to have this phone activated. They just cashed the check so I can't stop payment. They have failed to provide a working (reliable) connection. I feel I am entitled to that money back. Any ideas on how to get a refund? Should I just chalk it up to corporate greed and bad mouth them every chance I get?
I have come to the conclusion that they don't care about keeping customers.

1. Look on the phone bill for a phone number for the Public
Utilities Commission in your state. They should be able to help you with your complaints. Good luck.

3. Definitely complain to the Public Service Commission.
It might be called a Public Utility Commission in your state. The name varies, but they are responsible for regulating carriers in your state and mediating disputes. The important thing is that they rarely take any shit from the carriers and they almost always take the customer's complaints very seriously.

Most states will have a website for their PSC/PUC where you can file a complaint online. Within a few days they will open a case, contact Bell South, and then contact you.
