I was in the Italian area of town last night and picked up a bag of coffee from Cafe Calabria. The place has one "Best coffee in Vancouver" countless times and is just damned good. Where's the good java in your neck of the woods?
Juice & Java. Small independent store (only one in existence) that roasts its own beans. They have a big following. We now have three Starbucks within a four-mile radius and a PJ's Coffee, but Juice & Java's the best. :D
There is one right next to a starbucks. I don't understand why people go to starbuck. EB's Darn Good house blend is awesome. Perfectly balanced and not too acidic
I buy Guatemalan beans and grind them myself; don't use a coffemaker anymore. Boil water then use a manual filter/decanter; takes about 3 or 4 minutes to brew by pouring the water in by hand but it's worth it - no trace of bitterness and a nice strong brew. Mmmmm! :9
