Kitchen cutlery question
Has anyone ever heard of "Furi" brand knives?

They're the brand now officially endorsed by Rachael Ray.

No idea if they're any good or not, on a par with Henckels or Wusthof.

Any thoughts?

1. Did a little web searching on Furi Knives.
I did a little Yahooing. Price wise they seem to be on par with a Henckels or Wusthof. I personally don't believe that I would buy a set of knives only on the basis of an endorsement by Rachael Ray, but that's just me.
I bought a set of Wusthof knives for both of my sisters, both top quality and not cheap either.

They are probably on the same level as the other two names but I would favor Wusthof on familiarity.

3. Much as I love Rachael Ray, if she's endorsing them, I'd avoid 'em.
But I'm a Henckels and/or Japanese craftsman kind of person.

And the name "Furi" makes me think they might be Japanese, and so they might be really good ones.

4. Knives are very personal...
As long as you're looking at quality knives, the most important thing is how it feels in your hand. Rachel Ray probably (definitely) prefers a smaller, lighter knife than me. I have a giant Henckels. It actually took me a while to get used to it after a girlfriend refused to give back my smaller henckels.

6. Rachael Ray's knives are as sharp as Bush's mind
I watched her a few times and it looked like she had to saw things apart--things that shouldn't have needed sawing.

Don't buy expensive knives you can't hold before laying down your credit card.
