4. One of my favorites
I'm a big David Lean fan.

And Lara's Theme is one of my fav song from a movie.

Too bad I don't have cable.

5. Love it.
It's a truly great movie.

Even the bad guys are awesome. Strelnikov? One pissed off MoFo.

7. Thanks--saw it this weekend on DVD--don't have HBO
or cable for that matter.

Sad that so many people involved in making the movie are long gone!

8. Thanks...my mom taped it for herself
last week.

I have it on DVD.

Omar Sharif is a hottie...

Didja see his interview on salon.com? He is in a new movie about a shop keeper who befriends a Jewish boy.

12. An old favorite.
I don't have HBO, though. I'll just go hum "Lara's Theme" for awhile.

13. And Geraldine Chaplin
was so young and so breathtakingly lovely in it. Her long, black hair made her the perfect Tonya.

14. Wes Clark said it was his favorite movie
when Tweety asked him that question. I liked that movie, but I saw it when I was a kid and I all I can remember about it was thinking that Omar Sharif was handsome. I don't have HBO so I can't watch it now.

15. I tried to sit through this once
I remember the cinematography was excellent, but the whole thing seemed like an overwrought morality play, and it turned me off completely. I really don't get the attraction. I assume the book was pretty good, but if I want overwrought Russians, I'll stick with Dostoyevsky. Maybe someone can explain it all to me?

16. Did you see the recent PBS remake?
It was wonderful as well. More gritty in some respects. Keira Knightly was Lara, Sam Neill was the older businessman, and I can't remember the name of the actor playing Dr.Z. It showed her being taken into custody at the end as she told her son to run. Made me cry really hard.

18. I only saw a bit of it...
...but what I saw I liked a lot better than the Lean film. Of course, I would probably like a production of Keira Knightly reading the complete Oxford English Dictionary, so...
