should i go see gary hoey tonight?

I'm moderately broke, but i haven't been to a concert in a while.. i've always like gary hoey's stuff, so i should probably go. but i'll smell like a damn ashtray afterwards, and i didn't line up anyone else to go with, not that it matters. probably hear some kick ass xmas music.

I went, and it was an OK show, good, but not great. I guess i'm glad i went, but either he's slipping or he isn't nearly as good as i thought he was or, he's just a kick ass studio guy that can't pull it off live. He was funny, and seemed to enjoy himself and talked with the crowd, but his backing band sucked-they didn't sound like they were playing together at all. When you play in a trio, it has to be tight, or it doesn't work, and they weren't very tight. He did do a great selection of christmas songs from his HO HO HOey cds, and that was cool. i'd give it a 7 out of ten, but i probably won't see him again, it just wasn't really very noteworthy.
