Anyone seen Soderberg's SOLARIS?
Could he possiblly try ANY harder to emulate Kubrick's 2001 look and feel? It's almost a distraction.

I recall reading the story as a teen, and it's a good movie, but the style emulation is bugging the sh*t outta me right now!

BTW: I've spent weeks duplicating scenes from 2001 in 3D software, so I should talk!!!

...it looks like Minority Report.

3. It's got that 'feel'
Lem and PK Dick had a similar style, and this whole 'reality is a myth' thing is just SO big in Hollyweed right now. Good article in Wired about it this month.

Looking forward to "Paycheck," another Dick adaptation, as was Minority Report and Total Recall. In fact, Minority Report was originally with Paul Verhoven as "Total Recall 2: The Minority Report." Strange world, ehh???

2. Further into it now
and Kubrick should get a co-director credit on this thing! Made around the time Spielberg was doing "AI" and he produced this... Copped the look, that's for sure...

5. What software?
I studied animation in college, did several semesters of work in 3D Studio Max 2 & 3.

I was gonna rent this movie, despite the obvious Kubrick ripoff job, but the clerk told my girlfriend it sucked and she insisted on putting it back. (So I got her with Fear & Loathing instead - oops, sorry, hon, I forgot the guy was gonna vomit in the toilet and attack the maid...)
