I'm worried about Air America.

I know all radio stations have trouble selling their inventory of ad time, and that there's not many things manufactured in the US to advertise anymore. But AAR seems to be having a lot of trouble lately, based on what they run in their ad slots.

Lately, they've been back to running a lot of PSA's and house ads. As for paid ads (assuming they're not trades or barter), we have mostly snake oil:

"Hey, men! Great sex for 90 days! Free!"

"I'm 70 years old and I've got to say, honestly, that I have a fuller, thicker, head of hair than I did when I was 18 years old!"

"Match.com has Doctor Phil!"

"You can make unbelievable money on the Internet with e-bay without having to pay for anything!"

Even the local buys are worrisome. Predatory lenders, sub-prime mortgage brokers and the like.

Every once in a while, there is a gem. A local buy has a hilarious ad series for an ex-urban hardware store called, "Action Man and Sebo Boy!" voiced by George Lowe (of "Space Ghost" fame.)

Maybe it's just normal for the summer season.

Same ads. Even Rush has the same crap. It's the norm.

I have quit listening to Air America. I do miss it but I just can't take the ads anymore.
