Best Fictional President?
For me, it had to be Henry Fonda. In the movie "Fail Safe", he was the calm, measured authority. I completely believed in Fonda as President. I always thought that if an actor were to run for President, it should have been Henry Fonda.

1. Air Force One... Harrison Ford... President James Marshall
Could you EVER in a million years see Dubya doing the same thing in a similar situation? He would wet his pants and cower in the corner.

6. I do have to admit Harrison Ford was one kickass President
And you're right...Dubya would wet his pants in the same situation. He'd probably hide behind Laura.

21. Oh, yeah, Bertha -
I've often thought the Frank Langella character is Karl Rove to a "T".

The bit where Charles Grodin tells Kevin Kline to "get the hell out of there" is right on the money.

And at the end: "Dave...I would have taken a bullet for you."

14. Let Bartlet be Bartlet
& does anyone remember how many write-in votes he got in 2000? Maybe that debacle wasn't Nader's fault after all.

... and I kinda liked Bill Pullman in Independence Day. A president who really was a fighter pilot. D'you suppose that's where Dubya got the idea?

20. What I love about Jed Bartlett
I love that he had this great life long relationship with his secretary because she was the only person who could be counted on to deflate his balloon and re-flate (okay, I know that's not a word?)ti when deserved, like an older sister.

I love that he tells people long boring stories about Ancient Rome.

I love that he is the smartest guy in the room(yes Ari I do want my president to be the smartest guy in the room).

I love that he is imperfect, but he knows it and he always tries to do better.

Dan Aykroyd played the corrupt sitting president and James Garner and Jack Lemmon were ex-presidents.

38. I repeat my objections to President Freeman
Covers up the truth, denies what the scientists are telling him, destroys half the world, and comes out smelling like roses coz he gives a decent speech at the end of it. No second term for Freeman. I'll bet he'd declare martial law in the sequel and appoint Charlton Heston Attorney General.
