I want to donate my pool table to charity
I've passed it around to friends for the last 8 years. Eventually they all get sick of it and want the floor space back, just like I did. Well, my final pass-off has expired so I want to donate it to a good charity (not a thrift store). I have no idea what type of charity would accept a pool table. Any ideas?

1. Do you have a local Boys Club in your area?
That's the only thing I can think of.

6. That's why I'm seeking advice here at DU
I've never donated a large item and really have no clue as to which charities are good. Any and all advice is appreciated.

7. A pool table to charity?
"But that starts with P and that rhymes with T and that stands for trouble - right here in River City"

Sorry, I couldn't resist that. I think the suggestions above sound good - Boys or Girls Club, a veteran's home - maybe there's some sort of senior center in you area?

we are 501(c) so it would be tax deductable.
it took me 2 1/2 years and lots of work to get the place open....finally purchased and renovated a great building "Where it's @"

i hope you are within driving distance so we can pick it up. if not i recomend you contact a youth center in your neck of the woods and ask them...

9. How about a kids' hospital
for their teenage (12 - 17 yo) patients who are inpatients to use.

Depending on the kids' hospital they generally treat kids who are either from babies to teens from 0 to 18 or from 0 to 21.
