What's your theme song?
Mine changes frequently. Right now it's Love is a Stranger by Eurythmics. Last week it was A Million Miles Away by the Plimsouls.

What's yours? Is it constant, or does yours change?

:hi:

1. well right now i have a kids song by Laurie Berkner stuck in my head
...that sums it up nicely:

I'm not perfect
No I'm not.
I'm not perfect
But I've got what I've got.
I do my very best
Do my very best
Do my very best each day.
But I'm not perfect
And I hope you like me this way.

:D

3. XTC - Extrovert
Yes, it's true
I want that apple, just like William Tell
No more floor gazing, no more head down the well
I'm feeling extrovert
I should be shaking the stars instead of hugging the dirt

I swear!
I'm really burning, fit to boil up the sea
Human volcano at a zillion degrees
I'm feeling extrovert
Instead of quiet and shy I'm really dying to flirt

I feel like someone else
Yes I do, yes I do, yes I do
I feel like someone else
I feel new, not so blue
I feel
Extrovert

No hidden message, nothing political
You needn't listen, I just wanted to show
I'm feeling extrovert
I am the lion who's roaring not the mouse that gets hurt

I feel like someone else
Yes I do, yes I do, yes I do
I feel like someone else
I feel new, not so blue
I feel

My trumpet plays for you
I'm gonna blow it now

Extrovert

31. Right now it's "Fire in the Hole"--Steely Dan.
Perfect ironic, despondent "What the FUCK is the world trying to do to me NOW??" song. A (presumably young) guy trying his damnedest not to become yet another "cog in the machine"--and he's losing the battle nonetheless.

I decline
To walk the line
They tell me that I'm lazy
Wordly wise
I realize
That everybody's crazy
A woman's voice reminds me
To serve and not to speak
Am I myself or just another freak

Don't you know
There's fire in the hole
And nothing left to burn
I'd like to run out now
There's nowhere left to turn

With a cough
I shake it off
And work around my yellow stripe
Should I hide
And eat my pride
Or wait until it's good and ripe
My life is boiling over
It's happened once before
I wish someone would open up the door

Don't you know
There's fire in the hole
And nothing left to burn
I'd like to run out now
There's nowhere left to turn

32. For awhile mine was "Perfect situation" by Weezer
WEEZER LYRICS

"Perfect Situation"

What's the deal with my brain?
Why am I so obviously insane?
In a perfect situation
I let love down the drain.
There's the pitch, slow and straight.
All I have to do is swing
and I'm a hero, but I'm a zero.

Hungry nights, once again
Now it's getting unbelievable.
'Cause I could not have it better,
But I just can't get no play
From the girls, all around
As they search the night for someone to hold onto.
And I just pass through...

Singing...
Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhhhhhhh.
Singing...
Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhhhhhhh.

Get your hands off the girl,
Can't you see that she belongs to me?
And I don't appreciate this excess company.
Though I can't satisfy all the needs she has
And so she starts to wander...
Can you blame her?

Singing...
Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhhhhhhh.
Singing...
Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhhhhhhh.

Tell me there's a logic out there.
Leading me to better prepare
For the day that something really special might come.
Tell me there's some hope for me.
I don't wanna be lonely
For the rest of my days on the earth.
Oh..!!

Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhhhhhhh.
Singing...
Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhh oh. Ooohhhhhhhhhh.
Singing...
Ooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

A very happy, upbeat song. :sarcasm:

*****
Some say the end is near.
Some say well see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this

Bull-shit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks here in this hopeless fucking hole we call L.A.
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. any fucking day.
Learn to swim, Ill see you down in arizona bay.

Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your prozac and
Fret for your pilot and
Fret for your contract and
Fret for your car.
Its a bull-shit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks here in this hopeless fucking hole we call L.A.
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. any fucking day.
Learn to swim, Ill see you down in arizona bay.

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.

And Some say the end is near.
Some say well see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will cuz
I sure could use a vacation from this

Silly shit, stupid shit, Silly shit

One great big festering neon distraction,
Ive a suggestion to keep you all occupied.

Learn to swim.

Moms gonna fix it all soon.
Moms comin round to put it back the way it ought to be.

Learn to swim.

Fuck L. Ron Hubbard and
Fuck all his clones.
Fuck all those gun-toting
Hip gangster wannabes.

Learn to swim.

Fuck retro anything.
Fuck your tattoos.
Fuck all you junkies and
Fuck your short memory.

Learn to swim.

Fuck smiley glad-hands
With hidden agendas.
Fuck these dysfunctional,
Insecure actresses.

Learn to swim.

Cuz I'm praying for rain
I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom please flush it all away.
I wanna watch it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.

Time to bring it down again.
Dont just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.
I cant imagine why you wouldnt
Welcome any change, my friend.

I wanna see it all come down.
Get down. Suck it down. Flush it down.

Some girls gotta get coco chanel
Some get the luck of the draw
I got a girl lookin naturally well
Hippest chick you ever saw
She like wearin powder and paint
Wheelin in a big seville
Shes big cheese with the maitre ds
Down at the bar and grill
Just a girl in a t-shirt
Girl in a t-shirt
Her reputation precedes her
In every boutique around
They get down on their knees to please her
Shes throwin that money down
Now dont get it wrong, please understand
Shes barely keepin up with the rent
But the finer labels and her car phone
Kepp her down to her very last cent
Just a girl in a t-shirt
Girl in a t-shirt
Everybody digs her, everybody try
Once you get past that femme fatale
Everybody knows shes fine
I had to get it and quit it and keep a cool head
It took me a pass or two
But her codes done cracked I want you to know
Shes my baby through and through
Just a girl in a t-shirt
Girl in a t-shirt

73. The Luckiest by Ben Folds
(Been my theme for awhile now...) :)

I don't get many things right the first time
In fact, I am told that a lot
Now I know all the wrong turns, the stumbles and falls
Brought me here

And where was I before the day
That I first saw your lovely face?
Now I see it everyday
And I know

That I am
I am
I am
The luckiest

What if I'd been born fifty years before you
In a house on a street where you lived?
Maybe I'd be outside as you passed on your bike
Would I know?

And in a white sea of eyes
I see one pair that I recognize
And I know

That I am
I am
I am
The luckiest

I love you more than I have ever found a way to say to you

Next door there's an old man who lived to his nineties
And one day passed away in his sleep
And his wife; she stayed for a couple of days
And passed away

I'm sorry, I know that's a strange way to tell you that I know we belong
That I know

That I am
I am
I am
The luckiest

76. "Comfortably Numb" by Pink Floyd
Hello.
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone home?

Come on, now.
I hear youre feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain,
Get you on your feet again.

Relax.
I need some information first.
Just the basic facts:
Can you show me where it hurts?

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
When I was a child I had a fever.
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I got that feeling once again.
I cant explain, you would not understand.
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.

Ok.
Just a little pinprick.
Therell be no more --aaaaaahhhhh!
But you may feel a little sick.

Can you stand up?
I do believe its working. good.
Thatll keep you going for the show.
Come on its time to go.

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.

77. Music for a Found Harmonium by Penguin Cafe Orchestra
today....

Sometimes it's the Beatles' Eight Days a Week

Sometimes it's Beethoven's Ode to Joy

Sometimes it's the ominous Darth Vader theme from Star Wars

Sometimes it's The Grateful Dead's Ripple

I've outgrown my Ennui.......
