Poll question: Should I read this book?
My dad works for Shell and the company recently had some silly conference or leadership seminar or whatnot and the guest speaker was Ollie North. My dad, of course, didn't go, but he got a friend of his to bring backa signed copy of Ollie's book "Under Fire" which I assume was purchased in bulk and given out free. Anyway, he brought the book home and I've been using it to block out the sun that beams through the tiny above window windows. Ollie's served me well as a sun-blocker. But I'm nearing the end of "Sleepwalking Through History" by Haynes Johnson and I'll need a new book. And since "STH" was about the Reagan years and administration, I figure I might as well read Ollie's book for a counterpoint kind of thing. I don't like Ollie at all, and frankly think he should still be in jail, but the book is here and if anything I might get a laugh out of it.

So: read or no read?

1. Can you stand the sun in your eyes?

:shrug:

I'm guessing it's self-serving tripe, but it might be entertaining to read his assertions vs what you already know through STH. Since what you hear from FR's will be direct parrots of Ollie, that'll prepare you all the better.

edit = sense check.

2. I agree
And I can replace Ollie with my geology textbook. It covers a wider area anyway.

3. lots of short words
the only really confusing part should be the detailed descriptions of the munitions they sent to terrorists.

4. No. I like the idea of having Ollie working for me
Even if it's just to keep the sun out of my eyes.
