Barrow compares Giants' loss to being raped
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Mired in the midst of a six-game losing streak, the New York Giants have shown questionable ability on the field. After Sunday's 45-7 loss to the Saints, linebacker Mike Barrow showed questionable judgment off of it.

Barrow, frustrated by New Orleans' dominance and the Giants' lack of competitiveness, used a rape analogy during a postgame interview to describe how he felt about the team's performance.

"I feel like I've been just violated," Barrow was quoted as saying in the New York Post. "I don't know what it is to be raped, not to be insensitive to people who have, but to me, this is my experience . It feels like they just held us down and just did whatever they wanted to us. It just felt bad."

Giants coach Jim Fassel told the newspaper that he would discuss Barrow's choice of language with him.

1. Is it possible for me to lose any MORE respect for professional athletes?
I didn't think so, until I read this.

5. If you mean the response here at DU is too sensitive
Then you don't understand the whole physiology of rape.

This professional athlete was an idiot for saying this. Losing a football game is NOTHING like being raped. What an ass!

6. Well, no one said linemen had to be smart
More stupid than mean, but bad choice of words. Not as bad as Matt Millen's but bad.
