Why do we look forward to summer?
All winter long, I moan and groan about how cold and depressing winter is and how I can't wait for spring. I make all kinds of plans for the summer and by the time July rolls around, I'm too hot and miserable to do much of anything. For the past week, I've been living in one room (where the window air conditioner is). I'm tired of being hot and sweaty and taking three showers a day so I won't feel disgusting, only to start sweating again before I leave the bathroom. WHY?

1. What's funny about Minnesota is that...
in the middle of the summer, people are always complaining about the heat and saying how they can't wait for winter.

But when winter is in full force, everyone is complaing about how cold it is and saying how they can't wait for the summer.

The only time people never complain about the temperature here is during the fall and spring.

5. Yup. October is the perfect month.
Warm(ish) days is the 60's and 70's, and cool, cool nights. Beautiful colors and that silence that only comes with autumn. Gorgeous.

2. You know, I was thinking the same thing the other day.
But you have to admit, this summer has been particularly miserably hot. Some years, the summer in Philly is gorgeous. :)

3. Longer days
I can put up with the heat but mostly I like having more daylight to go out and ride my bike, walk the dog, etc.

4. I never look forward to summer.
:( Too freakin' hot and humid. I like all the other seasons and welcome them, but I hate summer.

6. Neither do I. I dread when summer comes.
Winter is my season.
