Ever feel like sitting down and crying for no apparent reason?
I've been feeling that way all day. Nothing specific, just feel like letting loose with the tears. And just today--not some ongoing depression.

Odd.

1. Did it at 5am...got busted out by my kid though.
I figured it would be a good time to just let it out and then I hear this little voice "Mommy?"

Damn:-(

3. At least I don't have kids to worry about
Just a beagle, who will, no doubt, wash my face while I cry.

There are worse things.

7. The dog was already with me when the kid showed up.

She was very sweet about it, just curled up on the couch with me and passed her hand over my head reciting a little poem I tell her when she is hurting. It made me feel tons better.

2. Yeah I got paid yesterday too.
Cheer up. There is enough sadness in the world without you feelin' blue.

5. It happens to me once in a while...
these days though, when I cry,I cry for those victimized by war and poverty. For the losses that can never be regained.

Crying washes the soul :)

6. Nah...happens to me, too...
Sometimes I know why, sometimes I don't. When I don't, that just makes it worse.

Just gotta keep telling yourself that it won't last.

10. It's an emotional release.
Nothing wrong with that. Maybe the subconscious has been working overtime, and the feedback to the conscious mind is saying "you need a good, long cry" and that's what you're getting.

I say let it out. C'mon...you're not one to hold back so much (*ahem* our back and forth in GD).

I hope whatever it is gets better/goes away.

12. Thanks...and imagine my surprise
One of the things I like about you is that you can separate a disagreement on one topic from a personality (could you teach this skill to your girlfriend?). Really, I respect that. When you and I disagree, I always feel a little sad (may be part of it), for fear it will poison all of our interactions. But it doesn't. Amazingly mature for internet discussion!

Also, I'm tired, I moved this week which always makes me feel kind of homesick, anniversary of my mom's death Thursday, got told I'm going to hell by a colleague I liked, my cat is sick and they don't know why, death of a parishioner. All this AND the Middle East.

Hmmm...maybe not so "no apparent reason" after all.

Thanks!

15. I'll say this
I think she does very well in the same fashion. There will always be disagreements here, it's a matter of not getting personal or tagging each other outside of that topic.

It seems all those things might add up to some need for emotional release. Sure as hell would for me.

BTW, your colleague is right. You ARE going to hell because of your disdain for pitbulls.

I'm kidding, of course. I hope that made you laugh, as that was honestly my intent.

17. Nah, she hates me in general
Edited on Sat Jul-29-06 07:58 PM by mycritters2
because we disagree about one subject. She's very clear about this. No matter how close we are on other topics, she dismisses me out of hand. Not even close to your way of debating.

And my colleague condemned me to hell for saying Muslims have rights, too. But, if it weren't that, it would be stem cells, or something. Most of my peers here don't think I'm Christian. That gets tiresome.

19. I find it funny
how others base what another is or isn't (in this case, you being Christian) based on their own perception or preconceived idea.

No, wait...not funny. It's sad. Especially in this case, given the examples you have. Total bullshit.

20. I think I'm a Christian because I try to follow Jesus
That's not enough for some. And my church is the lefty church in a right-ish town. It gets lonely.

I'm gonna walk the beagle.

Have a good 'un. And wish your girlfriend well.
