I get to go to New York!! Woo hoo!
Never been and as a gift for our birthdays, my aunt bought my mom, grandma, and me (and her of course) roundtrip tickets to New York. Free hotel stay, too!! I mean she paid for everything!!! :woohoo: I am going in October! I am sooo excited!

2. I am really excited about it! We are going to some
Broadway play, but I don't remember the name! And Tavern on the Green. Other than that, we will just go with the flow! And thanks!

It is SUCH an overpriced tourist trap.
I'm just sayin'.
Have fun, though.

no control in going. But I am sure I will enjoy it anyway!

quaint little Italian restaurant. But when the trip is free, how can I complain? :)

24. I'm not going to steer you away from L'il Italy completely
As it is a fairly quaint interesting little strip of the town, but as far as "tourist traps" go, it's a big one.

About 90% of the restaurants there are...well, they're not nearly as good as most of the ones outside of Little Italy.

7. If you are going to have a free afternoon or evening
let us know and some of us might be able to meet you.

If you're busy the whole time that's cool too. Just make sure you have fun. :)

17. Congrats - how fun!
Enjoy the touristy things, but don't forget to ask DUers for their inside tips...here's mine for some great Italian food.

Rocco's Ristorante
181 Thompson Street

http://www.menupages.com/restaurantdetails.asp?areaid=0&neighborhoodid=0&cuisineid=35&restaurantid=4930

That is down in Greenwich Village between Houston and Bleecker. It is kind of pricy but you gotta check out a place that has been open since 1922. We lived around the corner for most of my childhood and went at least once every 10-12 days or so. My parents used to threaten to marry me off to the owner's son as a joke.

I still go every time I go into Manhattan.

25. My favorite is Bamonte's
Opened in 1900 and has been featured on The Sopranos a couple of times. The food is amazing, and you'll really feel like you've stepped back in time.

It's in Brooklyn, but not too far in...
