A Candle In The Window- For Those Who Have Passed On
Hearing that Kean, the head of the 9/11 Investigation, has announced that it could have been prevented prompted me to want to have a thread with a Candle In The Window here at DU.

Even if this thread sinks... it will be in the Ether. Lighting a flame in the hearts of all who pass its way.

During the Winter Solstice, we often remember those who have gone before us...

I heard a quote the other day, "Love doesn't die, we pass through it".

So in this Season of Love... let's bring Light into Dark Places... carrying it with us.

Love is not a fixed commodity. It is Limitless.

3. Life Eternal
Life Eternal
by
Allen Fitzjames Armstrong

Do not be afraid
As although life is a brief candle below the window
Soon to burn itself out,
When it does inevitably die
God shall place, by his own hand,
Another candle on the outside of the window
By his own constant light to be lit.
Thus although each bright light's light is limited,
There is no end to the eternal light that shall forever shine.

6. A candle, please, for my MAN, George Fisher!
The best editorial cartoonist ever to grace the pages of the lost, lamented Arkansas Gazette. He was the Most Dangerous Man In Print.

Everybody from Orval Faubus to Bill Clinton was fair game for Fisher's mighty pen. Politicians feared him, yet could find nothing about him to hate once they got past the truth he told.

Miss Judi found him a his desk on Monday. He had just finished his last cartoons. And, yes, he made his deadline. (O Lord, keep me from making the obvious joke here, although he'd be laughing his ass off if I DID it.)

It was an honor to share the stage with him at the Rackensack concerts. A big piece of Arkieland passed with him.

13. amen
I am sorry about your parents :(, its sad. Its almost been 2 and a half years since my aunt/godmother left this fine earth, sigh, its so sad because as she died, my youngest brother just began his life. Sigh I think of the past too often but we know where they are, they are in heaven looking down on us, same with the heroes of the past. Sorry for the rant. My religious side is hardly known to many people, heck I could pass for agnostic but I am a christian.
Thanks padrig for St. Brennan's prayer, its beautiful stuff man.
