Gripe About the Search Feature

One of the reasons I contributed to DU was to get the nifty search feature so I could find my posts. The problem is, the search feature seems to be permanently broken. It won't find all my posts within a given timeframe, unless it's only the past 24 hours. I've tried every combination of search options and it doesn't work.

Is anybody else annoyed by this? Is it that hard to program a search engine for this large a board? Other boards I post to don't seem to have a problem.

On Edit: I already posted about this in the Bugs forum, but since the damn thing still doesn't work, I'm assuming nothing was done.

1. There's a pop-up menu for selecting the time frame.

It works fine, you just have to know how to use it.

6. I use it. It doesn't work.

It never coughs up all the threads within the selected time frame.

Sometimes when I search it will give me stuff I wrote the first day, plus something I wrote that day and nothing else.

I did an archive search on the Lounge only and hit 159 topics from December 9 and previous.

What are you looking for? What forum and approximate date?

10. One thing you have to look out for is

evey time that search page comes up, the date/time period resest to the Last 24 Hours. Each time you search you'll have to change it, it's not like most search engines that remember this sort of stuff.
