Will I ever be attracted to someone my age?
I am 33 and just admitted to myself that I have a crush on a guy who's ten years younger than me. I know that if you're Jack Nicholson or Michael Douglas this is par for the freakin' course but in my case I just feel like an idiot. Granted, the last guy I liked was a few years older than me but acted younger.

WHY ME? :nopity:

OK, vent finished. Please hide thread.

1. and this is somehow bad?
attraction = attraction. Nothing else. It's not a sin in anybody's book.

Enjoy!

2. Well then... you have a point
(scratches head) I just feel like a real dork about it. Basically because there is no chance anything would happen, and I didn't think that would matter to me until I ran into him tonight. Bleah. Anyway... I guess the pity party will break up by morning. Thanks for replying.

Seriously. I just wish I had the guts to talk to the guy, that is the real problem. I haven't dated in, like, forever. I have a bad case of stage fright...

ahem ... what exactly is "too bad" about that? 45 y.o. single male here, who's been married to 6 yr. younger and 6 yr older women. (they're both still great friends). Every person is a work of art with her (his) own lovable qualities.

13. Who cares as long as it works for you?
Of course, if you think that this is not healthy, that's one thing. But if you like men younger than you, and they like you, and the relationships are healthy (well, as healthy as dating can be), then what's the problem?

- it's that I don't know if he would be interested and I'm scared to find out.

I will be seeing him frequently over the next month, because of a project we are both involved in, so I guess I'll just figure it out.

If you're going to see him regularly for a month, I have a feeling that you'll be able to tell if he's interested or not. Nice thing about guys that age, they really haven't learned to be overly subtle! ;-)

48. Will you be having, say, dinner and lunch together?
Seems reasonable to me. Try as hard as you can to keep it light and friendly, and if the motor switches on, then go for it.

Hubby and I "discovered" our mutual thing when we were at a party (not as date). We both had an overwhelming urge to be close (and it wasn't overwhelmingly sex, either--just physically close). One thing led to another, and I just reached over and kissed him--no tongue, but it took a while! The rest, as they say, . . .

41. There's nothing wrong with this
Several of my friends and my closest cousin are married to younger men, from 5 to 18 years younger. This seems to be the norm, therse days. My friend went out with a guy 9 years younger and said that most men are clueless about age. Go for it and good luck...

44. No worries, grrl. My hubby is 12 years younger.
This will be our 8th marriage anniversary, and we were together 6 years prior to marriage.

Whichever way it goes, happiness and stability is waht matters. Enjoy--life's too short to do otherwise.

BTW, most people have no idea about us, those that do are always happy for me!

man?

Also: women, on average, live 7 years longer than men. So -- in terms of life-expectancy, he's only 3 years behind you, not 10.

On average, women marry men who are 5 years older -- and get to be widows for 12 years on average. Your interest in a 10-year-younger man makes more sense.

My advice? Follow your heart & see where it leads.
