Just got a classic step-on-the-rake fat lip.
Straight out of a 3 Stooges/kiddie cartoons scenario.
Honest to god.

Went in the shed for a length of 2 X 4 and stepped on the teeth of a rake leaning against the wall.
The top of the handle went WHACK!
Right in the middle of my upper lip.

I still can't believe it.

The good news:
No damage to teeth (mine).
If I were a couple of inches shorter I'd have a busted nose.

But I now have the proverbial fat lip.
Maybe another Scotch will help.
oh yeah
;-)

3. Dude. My cousin lost an eye like that when he was 9.
It could be much worse. Glad you didn't do any permanent damage.

9. My son did that when he was a little guy.
Running through the yard, and -- BAM. It was like a cartoon. He didn't get much damage, though. Hope your lip goes down.

13. Since you mentioned your own lack of grace
I thought I broke my nose on Wednesday. The building I work in has a large, industrial ice maker. The door opens up and usually it will hold until you get ice. It didn't. It came down on my face - namely my nose. It was swollen for a couple days and I expected to have black eyes. Fortunately, it wasn't broken and no black eyes. But damn, it hurt.

 to you.
