2. Emphatically true.
I found out...rather late in life...that love indeed conquers all.

with the 1967 release of "Forever Changes."

8. Yay for Arthur Lee!!
I agree, one of the best albums of all time...I haven't heard the new 'Live' Forever Changes, but someone I know who saw it live said it was amazing...

12. Ach! You know somebody who saw the show?
It's a great recording -- not as good as the studio album, mind you, but Arthur can still do it!

Edited to fix spelling

...Noone was more jealous than myself...Oh well...living in central Maine the one thing I've gotten used to (or am TRYING to get used to), is that good live music is now a rarity...

4. False.
Love did not conquer the Roman empire, the Goths did.

And lead poisoning.

14. What's the difference?
Seriously, I'm not being sarcastic. Here I am, two weeks away from turning 39, and I've never really experienced what you would call "true love." I'm not even sure I've been in "real" love, although I've sure thought I was at the time.

love has turned into indifference, or even loathing.

19. I'd like to think so
...if I could ever figure out what love means. Words are meaningless really, it's about action. I've had people in my life say they love me, but treat me in some very cold ways or in some way abandon me physically or emotionally, so my concept of 'love' is perhaps a bit skewed. My children are the only people who have ever said it, and I knew meant it and understood what it meant.

24. False
If that was true, the enlightened would have stopped Hitler and Stalin before they got started.

If that was true, the enlightened would have stopped Bush before he got started.

Had love conquered all, Wellstone and his wife's love for each other would have foiled Bushevik assassins.

But none of those things happened.

In other words, it's a truism -- said in many ways by the wisest of our collective histories.
