My 1000 mile road trip is over. Safe & sound in NC mountains.

The dogs are ecstatic. No more leashes for a couple of months. We are supposed to get 3-6 inches of snow tonight. Nick-the-Quick has never seen snow.

We left Dallas Tuesday and drove to Meridian. Last night I was at my parents' house south of Atlanta. Long trip with two dogs and a cargo trailer. I'm whipped.

3 inches of s---, most everything will be closed tomorrow. 6 inches, EVERYthing will be closed for the rest of the week, and maybe the weekend.

A joke goes around Asheville: "It's a good thing we will never have the winter olympics in Western NC. Why?? Because if it snowed they would cancel the games!!!"

5. I stopped at the grocery in Walhalla, SC.

I got the basics. I can hole up for the weekend. Mrs. DemoTex is scheduled in on Saturday (and back out on Sunday). I don't think things will be that bad here.

I was going to Asheville tomorrow to buy some gifts at Diamond Brands. I'll put that off until Monday.

6. Hopefully this 'storm' is breaking up over TN.

It appears to be, according to the weather.com radar. BTW, the National Weather Service will continue to forecast a blizzard, even after it clears off, and so will WLOS (Ch 13). It's annoying as hell, but it's what they do, to keep everyone hysterical.
