DU musicians, are you going to have a musical Christmas?
I was informed by Santa that since I've been such a good boy that I'll be getting a new set of Remo pinstripe drumheads-Ho, Ho, Ho!
Maybe some new sticks in the stocking along with a set of brushes too.

Any other players getting a musical type gift?

Anyone got a Christmas gig?

1. I'm getting my husband a clarinet.
He plays drums, bass, guitar, piano, and trumpet. He wants to learn clarinet next. I think he might be getting me a new guitar.

We're making CDs with a bunch of our original music to give to friends and family.

4. Sounds like music is instrumental in your relationship too!
My wife plays bass, but I just got her a Stella guitar from the 1950's at a thrift shop that had priced it at $14.95 with original case!
Good luck on the cd.
:hi:

Sweet gift.
It's kind of nuts that I want a new guitar, since we have about 12 of them. But my favorite guitar had an accident. Strangely it was at the same time I had my car accident. While I was in the hospital, our cats knocked over a stack of drums and took a chunk out of my trusty old classical.

I love musician couples! I'm glad to be in such great company.

12. I noticed that.
I noticed that a while back. Maybe we'll meet at a DU gathering someday. If you were in NYC, we could double date.

We will be working with an ex-bandmate in the near future on a 20 song original cd, he asked us and we couldn't say no to him.

10. rockin!
We should figure out a music exchange for DU musicians.

I'm mainly a songwriter, but I've become a gigging fool the last six months playing in a band, in my long-time duo and doing solo gigs.

BTW--dig your handle. Any relation to the dada song of the same name?

13. No, Bob is my name {Robert}-
and I play mankind's oldest musical instrument outside of the human voice.
I come from a musical family.
So I just call myself bobthedrummer.

23. Pinstripes are my preferred.
Glad to see other drummers here. I won't be getting any music equipment for christmas, really. I am treating myself to 4 new pinstripes though!

So Drummer, what kinda kit do you play. I play a Mapex M series 5 piece with Sabian symbals and (of course) Mapex hardware. I prefer Dave Weckl signature series sticks.

Have you been playing for a while? Or a starter? Either way, you could be another Victor Wooten.
