Women calls the cops on me tonight!
Tonight I went to the Jr Varsity football game at a nearby High School. I parked my car which has a BUCK FUSH and Democratic Underground bumper stickers on it in the parking lot behind a van. After the game I stuck around talking to people before walking out to the lot. When I got to my car there were two police cars there. The van that was parked in front of me now was crashed into the front of my car. She was telling police that I must have crashed into her when I parked my car. There was a small dent on her rear bumper and my car had no damage what so ever. I told the cops that I didn't hit her van. The investigating cop was calling the lady by her first name. He said that he believed the lady. I asked the cop how did he not know that she could have backed into my vehicle trying to make room to get out of the crowed lot. He said he didn't know, but he wasn't going to put his thoughts of what happened on the report. The lady got real huffy when I told the cop that I think she backed up into me trying to make room to get out. She said she didn't care what it cost, she would fight me in court. During her outburst of anger I told the lady she didn't have to talk to me in that tone of voice. That seemed to calm her down for awhile.

Tomorrow morning I have to call the insurance company. Does this women have a leg to stand on? There were no witnesses to what really happened.

1. No she doesn't. No witnesses. No fault. So, unless the officer lies
and files a report and gives you a ticket, you should each be responsible for your own damages. Plus, it happened in a parking lot, not on a public street. sleep easy. :hi:

3. If you know you didn't hit her van, then her van hit you.
In other words, she's lying, and no, she doesn't have a leg to stand on.

4. Shit
Tell her you asked around and found someone who actually heard the noise and saw her back into your vehicle.

5. Got her insurance information? File a claim with them.
Let their insurance company do the legwork. At least if I had damages and I knew it wasn't my fault then yes, I'd be filing claim against her insurance.

7. She probably will not be successful in claiming against you...

But I do recommend that you take several pictures of your car tomorrow to show as evidence that there is no visible damage to your car. Make sure the date and time is imprinted on the photos. That way, at least your insurance company can use that to argue against hers.

Also, note to your insurer that you were still in the stadium area and then happened upon the police surrounding the cars near where you car was parked. This shows that the accident obviously happened while you were not even opperating your vehicle, so her claim against you cannot possibly have merit. Your insurer may want an affadavit of your side of the story, so ask what you need to do to contest a bogus accident claim...

If it's possible to have the responding police officers at the scene also attest that you approached the scene from the stadium area, this will help strengthen your evidence that she's a demented harpy. Um, I mean... That she's obviously confused about who she hit when she was backing out of her parking spot. ;)
