1. I hit 44 before needing bifocals |
|
Get the kind without lines. No one will know.
And 40 is the new 20, ya know.

3. Naw, old is when you need trifocals. |
|
It just feels old to need bifocals. Too bad it happened before age 40. It's most typical at about age 45. Be prepared for a few weeks or months of tripping on stairs and the like. The hardest transition for most people is learning to move their head to look down rather than just moving their eyes.

I refuse to be 'old' and I've needed 'em for the past...three or four years? I might actually get 'em in the next month or so, too. This 'glasses on to see and glasses off to read or write' thing is for the birds.

5. I am 36 and wear "multi focals" and I still consider myself young. |
|
No worries. You can still get contacts.

7. Agreed. I wear glasses, but my father- a bifocal (lucky bastard) wearer |
|
uses contacts. Being in multi focals, young though I am, keeps me from that option. :hi:

they take a little getting used to, but no one can tell by looking at me that they're bifocals.
My eye doc says that he can tell, by 3 years in either direction, how old somone is by their eye examination.

Hard to get used to if you ask me.
I'm putting them in my purse for menus, etc.

11. I got them when I was 37. It isn't so terrible |
|
but it is a sign that you're - ahem - maturing.

I'm supposed to have them, but have opted for a single lens. I'm fine with those.

14. I got bifocals as a teenager. |
|
My mother got them about the same time. It bothered her a lot more than it bothered me. It is almost impossible to feel old at 15. Now that I am in fact older, I have trifocals. But I have the progressive type, so it's not obvious that they are trifocals from a casual glance.
