Poll question: Is Your Best Friend In The World Of The Same or Oppsite Sex As You?
I have a theory that a majority of liberals are best friends with people of the opposite sex. That's the way it is with me, my best friend is a woman and I've always had a large amount of female friends.

Not that there's anything wrong with hanging out with the guys, but some of my guy friends aren't intellectually, shall we say, challenging.

So what about you, is your best friend of the same or opposite sex?

3. My wife is my best friend.
The only guy friends I have are in my band. I definitely favor females as friends; all my friends besides my wife are X chromosomers.

8. You're not alone--Kathy's ex is her best friend, too.
Interesting, that.

(I once saw a cartoon in the Lesbian News, a So. Cal. rag. It showed a group of women marching in a festival parade behind a banner that read "Madeline's Ex-Lovers." LOL)

5. Same sex.
But I am gay so does that count as opposite? (You know the theory that in those "pick someone of the opposite sex" questionaires how gays have to substitute someone of the same sex....) :)

I'm not talking lovers, just best friends. So the rules of gaydom do not apply. :D

6. My best friend is Chewbacca.
Actually his name's Dale, but he's the missing link. He once asked me to put sunscreen on his back at the beach. It was like putting lotion on a carpet. eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwww

But that's just about the man's only flaw. He is a god and I love him.

7. besides my wife?
besides my wife? It's a woman who I knew in grad school. I did my MA at WSU. My roommate attended Berea as an undergrad then came to WSU as well. I was accepted at OU to do my doctorate so my roomie told me, "hey, my old girlfriend from Berea is going to OU next year, look her up!" So I did. Showed up, unannounced, at her door and said, "Is Kerry there?" She said basically "I'm Kerry, who the hell are you?" I introduced myself and we've been buddies ever since. We went to Reds games, went out to movies when we didn't have dates, bitched about our love lives, etc. When I got married I wanted her as my best man, but my wife said "No female best man!" So we compromised and she was one of the bridesmaids instead.

21. My problem
I'd have to say my best friend is another female, but my husband goes back and forth between my best friend and sparing partner I suppose. Overall, I find that I get along better with men, but I've never been in a situation where I was 'friends' with a man who ultimately didn't want to take it further. I need to hang out with gay guys or somethng I guess.

25. I have one of both...
I've known my girl best friend for almost 20 years. I'v eknown my guy best friend for just over 13 years. I wouldn't insult either of them by refering only to the other as my "best" friend. One of the reasons I love them both so much is that they have ZERO jealousy of each other. They're very different people and they both add immeasurably to my life and they both love me enough to be glad I have the other.

29. Best friend
is my husband. Next best friend is another female. Next best friend after that is a male. But, all my life, I've felt I had a lot in common with males. I have lots of interests in male things, like carpentry, mechanical stuff, and football. I have little interest in clothes, makeup, and cooking. But I am a home person - like to decorate and "nest." I think I am about 60% female and 40% male emotionally.
