Am I the only person at DU who still irons???
I am looking at a pile of last week's clothing that I must iron in a few minutes. Around my office, I hear people who are horrified that I still own an iron, much less iron my clothes.

Do those things work? I bet they do. I am always putting things on a hanger and hanging them up in the bathroom. After a shower they look fine - no wrinkles - but no creases either. Okay for me.

I finally got this one about 2 years ago.

I use it on all my stuff and the rest of the family too. I'm not talking about crispy stuff, like linens and dress shirts. those get ironed or go to the cleaners. I have an iron permanantly set up in my sewing room too. I think I'll go make something........

32. Only occasionally
I have some things that need ironing. Most of the time I just don't bother to wear them, but once in awhile I'll drag out the ironing board and iron something to put on.

I used to like to (again, 'occasionally') iron everything I had that needed ironing at once, but I found it doesn't stay wrinkle free if you fold it back up and stick it in a drawer <<<lol!>>>

46. Great!!!
It's pretty nice in the Windy City today...a cool spell, though we had a bit of mist earlier after a couple of humid days.

No gatherings that I've heard of, though I am having lunch with the delightful dolo amber on Wednesday. She and I have met before, and she is heading down here from the land of cheeseheads to take her daughter to the airport to go visiting.

I am heading to Michigan next month for a vacation and big family party to celebrate a 60th wedding anniversary. The place we are staying at is a big house on the lake with seven (count 'em!!!) bedrooms! From what I am told, a big old place with lots of porch space. Cannot wait. Lots of cousins, most of whom it has been several years since I have seen, since they live around the country.

I would help Mom iron, and I learned by just doing the hankies. I started with the everyday hankies and then graduated to the Sunday hankies. I remember my mother spending time in front of the tv ironing. It seemed like a pleasant job for her. Usually Art Linkletter was on tv. If I try I can still smell the fresh starched shirts and hear the pssst! of the iron.

Life was so much easier....

64. Nope. I iron when needed.
Hanging the clothes on the line means that I don't have to iron as much because everything dries without wrinkles (mostly.) But some things always require ironing, and we have boards in my office, the laundry room and our bedroom (back of the door type.)

I also use a sprinkler bottle, which really makes people look at me funny. And I'm only 30. I shouldn't know what an iron, a sprinkling bottle or creases are supposed to look like.

Good on you!
