Please send good vibes for my friend...

I saw my horn player friend, Jonell, last night. She went through a heavy-duty round of chemo a couple of years ago, then got the bad news this last spring that she'd need more. She was upbeat about it..."At least this time I'll only need 8 treatments".

Last night she was using a scooter-like device to get around. She's apparently lost the use of one of her legs. Still, she was there at the rehearsal, ready to go, scooting along and doing her damnedest to not let it get her down. I didn't really get a chance to talk with her...I only had enough time to give her a hug before we started again.

Please send good thoughts her way...It's really not looking so good for her right now...

She's never been the type to stand out in a crowd...a rather private person all in all. I'm guessing at this point she doesn't have much choice other than to be brave. I wish she could just be cured.

a friend of mine decided to stop her chemo. She is actually doing better off of it, as she was so sick from it. She's going to make the best use of time now. I will see her this week.

We had a good friend who made that decision when she was diagnosed with breast cancer the second time. I wish your friend joy and laughter and beauty... :hug:
