CBS alters Couric photo to slim her down
Confirmation that CBS wanted a bimbo to fill Cronkite's seat. Only a little less.

News division president ‘surprised’ at discovery of digital airbrushing

NEW YORK - No, Katie Couric didn’t suddenly lose 20 pounds.

The incoming “CBS Evening News” anchor appears significantly thinner in a network promotional magazine photo thanks to digital airbrushing.

The touched-up photo of Couric dressed in a striped business suit appears on the inside of the September issue of Watch! which is distributed at CBS stations and on American Airlines flights.

14. I actually do like Katie ever since she actually managed to piss off Bob
Dole in a live interview during the 96 presidential campaign. She can't be all bad. I also think she is an attractive woman. No I don't adore her but like her, yes.

8. I saw the MSNBC video at the website
A guy being interviewed by Tucker Carlson said that this cut into the credibility that CBS News is trying to re-establish in the wake of "Rathergate". This leaves me thinking, they actually thought hiring Katie Couric would re-establish their credibility?

17. Pet peeve... video when a still would do
Why do they need to make a video out of what could be shown with a simple still image?

I'm on a Mac, and half the time these video formats don't work... I know I'm in the vast minority, but it still seems silly to launch a video player to show a still photo.
