Attention Texans: Sales Tax holiday this weekend.
All clothing under $100 is sales tax exempt this weekend. Great for back to school. I am amazed that the legislature did not KO this program in the last session.

3. Yeah, but
that probably means you have a state income tax. The last Texas politico to even mutter that phrase in Texas ended up with his head on a silver platter. Almost literally.

4. I'm glad I shopped early.
In some places they run out of the basic stuff, like underwear and blue jeans, if you wait until the sales tax holiday. It's not worth the battle of shopping with the other 25 million Texans.

Last weekend I went to a big sales at JC Penney's and also had a 15% VIP card. I spent $200 for $350 in clothing, and I didn't have to pick through the remnants (I heard that's been changed to "reminents" now), Took me about thirty minutes to get my boys' wardrobes for school.

6. I won't take advantage
not worth it to fight the crowds then stand in line wasting a perfectly good weekend. It gets rather brutal.
